Crown reduction: Reducing the height of the tree and reducing branch length proportionally to give an overall reduction in tree size.

Crown lift: This involves removing the lower branches of a tree to open space under the tree and to raise the canopy.

Crown thinning: Removing selected branches from the canopy in order to increase light penetration and airflow through the canopy resulting in a healthier tree.
